Getting started

    Download Departa
    Free on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). No account required to start tracking.

    Search for your flight
    Enter your flight number (e.g. AC780) or search by route. All major and regional airlines worldwide are covered.

    Add it to My Flights
    Tap the bookmark icon to save any flight. It appears on your home screen with a live status summary.

    Enable push notifications
    Allow notifications when prompted. Core subscribers receive gate change, delay, and cancellation alerts faster than airline apps.

    Upgrade when you're ready
    Core is $1.99/month for unlimited flights and full alerts. Premium is $4.99/month for AI predictions, Connection Assistant, and Travel Passport.
Tracking flights
On the Free tier you can actively track one flight per calendar month. You can still search any flight to see its status, but only one at a time can be saved to My Flights with live tracking active. Upgrade to Core for unlimited simultaneous flight tracking.
The plane that operates your flight first arrives from another city. Departa automatically identifies and tracks that inbound aircraft from 25 hours out — so if it departs late or encounters a problem at its origin, you know immediately, long before your gate agent is aware. This feature is available on all tiers including Free.
Departa aggregates data from multiple aviation data providers and ADS-B receiver networks, refreshed every 30–60 seconds in flight. Coverage may be reduced over remote oceanic routes where ground receivers are sparse.
Yes — past flight import is a Core feature. Go to My Flights → Import and follow the prompts. Historical records feed directly into your Travel Passport stats on Premium.
Alerts & notifications
Airlines have internal processing delays before pushing updates to customer apps. Departa monitors multiple independent data feeds and sends a push notification the moment any change is detected — without waiting for the airline to publish it.
With Core or Premium: gate changes, delays (with configurable threshold), cancellations, boarding commencement, departure, and landing. All alert types can be individually toggled in Settings → Notifications. Push alerts are not available on the Free tier.
Confirm push notifications are enabled for Departa in your device system settings (iOS: Settings → Departa → Notifications; Android: Settings → Apps → Departa → Notifications). Then confirm the flight is saved to My Flights and the specific alert type is toggled on. If issues persist, contact support.
Premium features
Departa's model considers historical on-time performance for the route, aircraft type, time of day, airport congestion, current weather, ATC delays, and inbound aircraft status. A risk score from Low to High is shown on the flight detail screen and updated every 30 minutes — along with the specific reason for the risk.
If your first flight is delayed, Connection Assistant calculates whether you'll make your connection based on current expected arrival, gate-to-gate walk time at your connecting airport, minimum connection time, and whether your onward flight is also delayed. You'll see a clear risk rating and walk time — e.g. "You'll make it with 18 min to spare" or "High risk — consider rebooking."
Travel Passport is your lifetime aviation record: total miles flown, countries visited, airlines used, on-time rate by carrier, aircraft types flown, and more. It builds automatically from every flight tracked in Departa and supports past flight import to fill in your history.
Account & billing
Core ($1.99/month) covers unlimited flight tracking, push alerts, live map, gate info, widgets, and calendar sync — everything you need for a typical trip. Premium ($4.99/month) adds AI delay predictions with reasons, the Connection Assistant, Friends tracking with pickup countdowns, Travel Passport stats, and weather radar on the map.
Yes. Your Core or Premium access is tied to your Departa account. Sign in with the same account on any iOS or Android device and your subscription is recognized automatically. Tap "Restore Purchases" in Settings if it doesn't appear immediately.
Core and Premium are billed through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel anytime: iOS — Settings → your name → Subscriptions; Android — Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions. You retain access until the end of the current billing period.
Troubleshooting
Pull down on the flight detail screen to force a manual refresh. If data still looks incorrect, the issue may be upstream with our data providers — rare but possible for regional or charter carriers. A yellow dot in the top-right corner of the flight card indicates degraded coverage for that specific flight.
Departa uses push notifications rather than continuous background polling, so battery impact should be minimal. If you notice unusual consumption, check that Location access is set to "While Using" rather than "Always" unless you rely on widgets. Report persistent issues to support with your device model and OS version.
Sign in with your Departa account and tap Settings → Restore Purchases. Ensure you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account used at the time of purchase. If the issue persists, contact support with your order confirmation and we'll restore access manually.
Go to Profile → Export My Data. Departa compiles your profile, tracked flights, past flight history, travel stats, and preferences into a JSON file and opens the native share sheet. If there's no data to export yet, start tracking flights to build your history.
